Every flavor is made from naturally gluten-free whole-food ingredients — pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, dates, almonds, raw honey, flax and psyllium husk — with no wheat, barley, rye, or oats in any bar. Because the protein comes from the seeds and nuts themselves rather than a wheat-based or powdered isolate, there's no gluten grain in the recipe at all. No, every Forward Bar is dairy-free by design. The protein comes from hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds and flax — not whey or casein. There's no milk, milk protein isolate or milk powder in any flavor.

No. It contains no erythritol, maltitol, sorbitol or xylitol. Sugar alcohols are a common cause of the bloating people report from low-sugar protein bars, so we avoid the category entirely. The bar is sweetened with dates and a small amount of raw honey.

Psyllium husk is a natural, plant-based fiber sourced from the outer layer of seeds from the Plantago ovata plant, which grows in India and parts of the Mediterranean. No, and it's the most common mix-up in this category. A whole seed and an industrial seed oil are different products. The oil is extracted from the seed at scale, usually with a chemical solvent, then refined, bleached and deodorized, stripping the fiber, protein and vitamin E and concentrating the fat. We use the whole seed, intact, with all of that still attached.
