What one bar actually delivers

Per bar, against the FDA Daily Value. Under FDA labeling rules a food is an “excellent source” of a nutrient at 20% DV or more, and a “good source” at 10–19%.

Nutrient Per bar What that means
Magnesium 45% DV Excellent source. Intakes below the recommendation are common in the US.
Manganese 80% DV Excellent source, though manganese deficiency is rare in a normal diet.
Copper 70% DV Excellent source, though copper deficiency is rare in a normal diet.
Phosphorus 40% DV Excellent source. Also widely available across the diet.
Zinc 25% DV Excellent source. The body has no zinc store, so regular intake matters.
Protein 12 g From seeds and nuts. No isolates, concentrates or powder.

Ingredient questions, answered

What is in The Forward Bar?

Seven whole-food ingredients: pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, dates, almonds, raw unfiltered honey, flax seeds and psyllium husk. There are no protein isolates, no synthetic vitamin premix, no sugar alcohols and no processed syrups.

Does The Forward Bar contain protein powder?

No. The protein comes from the seeds and nuts themselves rather than from whey, soy or pea isolate. That is the formulation decision the whole bar is built around.

Does The Forward Bar contain sugar alcohols?

No. It contains no erythritol, maltitol, sorbitol or xylitol. Sugar alcohols are a common cause of the bloating people report from low-sugar protein bars, so we avoid the category entirely. The bar is sweetened with dates and a small amount of raw honey.

Can The Forward Bar replace a multivitamin?

Not entirely, and we would not want to claim it does. One bar is an excellent source of magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese and phosphorus as defined by FDA labeling thresholds. It does not provide meaningful vitamin D, vitamin B12, calcium, iodine or selenium. Most registered dietitians would not treat any bar as a full multivitamin replacement, and neither would we. What it can do is meaningfully reduce how much else you need to take.

Is The Forward Bar vegan?

It is vegetarian but not vegan, because it contains raw honey. Everything else in the bar is plant-derived.

Does The Forward Bar contain allergens?

Yes — it contains almonds, a tree nut, which is a major allergen under US labeling law. Full allergen information is on every pack and on each product page.
